Dianna LaFerry is a commercial artist and sewing authority based in Oakland, California. Her graphics career began in 1993 with an early copy of Adobe Illustrator and a desk in a tiny mom-and-pop tee shirt printing shop. Since then, she has worked with thousands of clients to design custom graphics, artwork, and illustrations. She specializes in harnessing raw ideas and refining them into polished, professional printed works. Most of Dianna’s art is focused on illustration, identity, branding, and collateral. Marta Berk is a Russian illustrator/ surface designer/ painter living and working in New York city. Marta is the creator of cute characters and whimsical patterns for a range of surfaces including fabrics, paper products, textiles, homewards, and more. Born in Belarus and brought up in Brooklyn, NY, Marta spent her childhood immersed in cartoons and fairytales, fueling her imagination and filling countless sketchbooks with frolicking animals, groovy florals, and strange characters. Now, as an adult with a background in graphic arts, Marta is skilled in the technical process of designing repeats as well as researching trends and color palettes. Kevin Harris is a printmaker, who designs and produces gorgeous textile prints for silk scarves. His work is screen-printed: first he dyes his silk, then screen-prints the designs with an additional dye color, and then, finally, steams them for indelibility. Kevin describes his work as, "graphic, contemporary and vibrant." We at Little Dipper cannot keep our hands off his scarves! They are soft, warm, and yet durable (they can even be hand-washed). Kevin produces his magical scarves in his Berkeley, CA space while his work can be found in galleries and museum stores around the United States. Little Dipper is thrilled to feature his work!
Gordon is a native San Franciscan. He earned his BFA in Illustration in 1992, then his MFA in Sculpture from 2010. He joined the Academy of Art University as faculty for the Illustration Department in 1994, and directed the department for 7 years. Currently, Gordon is focusing on helping the Academy of Art integrate emergent technology into the curriculum for Illustration, Sculpture, Jewelry and Metal Arts and Fine Art.
